Quarto Board Game

I have just finished making a board game called Quarto.  I was asked to make it for a good friend of mine.  It is made from walnut and oak that he sent me.  It was a fun project and was done almost entirely on the lathe.  I used a table saw to cut the stave sections for the sides of the box, and a drill press for the inlays on the top.

It was a fun project and was done almost entirely on the lathe.  I used a table saw to cut the stave sections for the sides of the box, and a drill press for the inlays on the top.  The techniques used to build it could be adapted to a number of different board games or projects.

I took pictures while I was building it and am busy working on an article detailing the construction steps.  Stay tuned, I should have it posted in the next couple of days!

    1. I am working on a post describing how I made the Quattro board game. I was planning on including the rules for the game when I make that post. I should have it up in the next couple of days.

  1. I just came across this game at a store – what a great game!! Involves a lot of forward thinking and strategy. Pretty intense, but easy to just pick up and play!

  2. You may play an online version here…

Rules are really simple. It is similar to Connect 4
    1. But in this game, you present any piece to be placed on the board by your opponent.
    2. Aim is to place the fourth object which gives you a vertical/horizontal/diagonal 4 alike pieces… (the features of object are color, shape, length and solid)

Making a similar set is a way back dream for me…
Hope you could publish the article and photos, but in any case, would you consider selling another set on ebay or anywhere on the web?
    Thanks…
